Help & support

Let’s get your shelf
sorted out.

Browse common questions or email the Orpulus support team. Include the screen, what you expected, and a screenshot when possible.

How do I add an item?

Open Scan to use a barcode or receipt, or use the add button on Home or Inventory for manual entry. You can review the category, quantity, unit, storage location, expiry date, and low-stock level before saving.

How accurate is receipt scanning?

Receipt scanning uses on-device text recognition and is still in development. Shelfie estimates likely names, categories, quantities, storage, and dates, but nothing is added until you review it. Always check the result before saving.

How do expiry reminders work?

Choose your “expiring soon” threshold, delivery time, and quiet hours in Profile → Expiry & notifications. Shelfie schedules local reminders for saved items with expiry dates and can also remind you to audit inventory periodically.

Are recipe suggestions private?

When supported by your device, Cook uses Apple’s on-device language model. Inventory names and food preferences used to generate recipes are not sent to Orpulus.

Do I need an account?

No. Shelfie works locally without signing in. Sign in with Apple is optional and enables private sync of inventory snapshots, points, and saved recipes across devices.

How do I manage storage locations?

Open Profile → Locations. You can add, rename, reorder, and delete storage areas. Deleting a location moves its items to Unassigned rather than deleting those items.

Can I share my reorder list?

Yes. Open the reorder card from Home and use the share button. The text list is grouped into low stock, expiring soon, and replace.

How do I delete my account?

Open Profile → Account → Delete account. Apple will ask you to confirm your identity. Account deletion removes the Shelfie authentication record and revokes Shelfie’s Apple authorization; local inventory on the device is not automatically deleted.
